Warning issued over Telford scam telephone calls
People have been warned to be aware of a scam caller called "Daniel" who is claiming to be from "Telford City Council".
Telford & Wrekin Council chiefs said they had already been told of two instances where people had been called and urged people to be aware and not give out any personal details.
Spokesman Russell Griffin said: "There have been two instances we have been notified of. One was by a member of staff whose wife received a call from a London number.
"The caller said his name was Daniel and he was from Telford City Council. She quickly ended the call and informed us.
"When they googled it, it came up as one of those PPI claim numbers."
Anyone else who receives one is urged to complain to the Claims Management Regulator by calling 0333 200 0110 or emailing contactus@claimsregulation.gov.uk
