Jailed: Telford man behind bars for affray

A Telford man has been sentenced to eight weeks in prison for his role in an affray.

Anthony Tranter, of Wrekin View, Madeley, had been due to stand trial at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday.

However, he changed his plea to guilty at the last moment.

The 32-year-old admitted a charge of affray which took place on February 6, the court heard.

No further details of the case were given at the sentencing hearing.

Judge Peter Barrie ordered Tranter to serve eight weeks in prison.
