Firefighters tackle Oswestry kitchen blaze

One person had to be rescued from a flat in Oswestry after the oven caught fire.

Three crews attended the scene on Beatrice Street, when the kitchen of a flat went up in flames.

The owner of the flat was able to get out of the building safely.
A spokesman for the fire service, said: "The fire involved unattended food left in an oven of a first-floor flat kitchen area.
"All persons accounted for and our crews ventilated property.
"Also at the scene of the incident were the ambulance service and the police."
The fire happened just before 5.40am this morning. It is not clear if the person involved was injured.
