Woman suffers neck injury in three-car crash on A442 in Shropshire

A woman driver was taken to hospital with a neck injury today after a three-car crash near Bridgnorth.

Emergency services rushed to the A442 outside Wharf Bridge Cottage between Norton and Alscott, near Bridgnorth.

Police directed traffic that had built up in long delays in the area at around 8am.

One lane remained closed while officers worked at the scene for around an hour.

No one else was injured in the smash that involved a black Ford Focus, a Vauxhall Corsa and a Vauxhall Astra.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said one person was taken to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.

Firefighters from Bridgnorth also attended and made the vehicles safe.
