O'Sullivan, regarded as one of the sport's greatest ever players, will take part in the event on October 16 at The Raven Hotel in Prees Heath, near Whitchurch.

Organisers say 125 tickets are available – eight of which will be "golden tickets" guaranteeing the opportunity to play a frame against the man himself.

The competition will be overseen by former world professional snooker referee Michaela Tabb, the only woman to have presided over a world championship final. O'Sullivan, affectionately known as 'The Rocket', has successfully blazed a trail of unbeaten records in his career, including being the youngest player to win a professional ranking tournament and the youngest to win the Masters.

Mike Dubicki, joint owner of The Raven Hotel, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be hosting this event with Ronnie – one of the most talented and exciting players there has ever been in snooker."

Doors will open at 6pm and the evening will start at 7pm. Tickets are priced at £70 each for spectators and £250 for a golden ticket. For more information call (01948) 710540.
