Man arrested after teenager pulled by hair in Shrewsbury town centre

Police is appealing for witnesses after a woman was grabbed and pulled by her hair in Shrewsbury town centre.

The assault happened at around 2pm on Thursday 28th May on Mount Pleasant Road when a man verbally assaulted a 19-year-old woman from Shrewsbury outside Lloyds bank.

As she went to leave he grabbed her by the hair and pulled her backwards.

Following this, a 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of common assault by beating and is currently on bail until May 29 while police continue their inquiries.

The man is believed to be known to the victim and police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to call police on 101, quoting incident 285 of May 29, 2015.
