Ironbridge Gorge Museum has been named a Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame winner by the internet giant TripAdvisor.

The Certificate of Excellence award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve good traveller reviews on TripAdvisor.

Paul Gossage, director of marketing & PR at the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust said he was delighted with the award as it directly reflected the feedback the attractions get from visitors.

He said: "We would like to thank all our past visitors who took the time to complete a review on TripAdvisor and hope they continue to enjoy visits to our 10 museums for years to come.

"With the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence being based on customer reviews, the tribute is a remarkable vote of confidence in our museums."

The Hall of Fame was created to honour the businesses that have earned a Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years.

Marc Charron, president for TripAdvisor usiness said: "Winning the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years is a remarkable feat."

The 10 Ironbridge Gorge Museums are spread across six square miles of the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, together attracting over half a million visitors per year.

Earlier this month the Trust took home gold for the large visitor attraction of the year at the Visit England awards. It was also named best family day out at the 2015 Hudson's Heritage awards.
