Man victim of unprovoked attack in Telford

A man was attacked by two strangers in Telford in an unprovoked assault.

The victim, a 42-year-old man, was walking along St John Street, in Wellington when he was approached by another man who attacked him.

A second male offender then began to join in the assault, which is believed to have lasted for around five to 10 minutes.

One of the men then made off towards Wellington, turning left at the end of St John Street, while the second man turned right onto High Street.

Both offenders are described as Asian, 6ft tall, of a muscular build, with short black hair and full beards.

The first was in his early 20s, wearing a dark coloured collarless shirt, dark navy jeans and black safety boots with steel toecaps.

The second was wearing a black fleece top, black jeans and white Adidas trainers with beige stripes.

The victim only suffered minor injuries following the attack on Wednesday between 8am and 8.10am.

Anyone who witnessed the assault or who saw men of these descriptions in the area is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident 216S of Thursday, May 14.
