Woman found in Telford library died of multiple injuries, inquest told

An elderly woman found dead inside Telford's Southwater Library died of multiple injuries, an inquest heard.

The body of Janet Emily Halford, 72, was discovered shortly before midnight on April 26. Police at the time said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

An inquest, opened in Wellington yesterday, heard that a post-mortem examination revealed she died of multiple injuries.

Mrs Halford was born in Wellington and lived at Smith Crescent in Wrockwardine Wood, Telford.

Coroner John Ellery adjourned the hearing until August 13 at Telford Register Office.
