Andrew Pearce was stopped by police after getting out of a car outside his home. Officers found he had cocaine and cannabis in his possession.

Pearce, 30, of Teagues Crescent, Trench, had enough cocaine to make 35 1g sales with a street value of £1,400 and 22.2g of cannabis, with a street value of £320.

He also had £710 cash seized which officers said was from drug deals.

Pearce was found guilty by a jury of possessing the drugs with intent to supply, relating to the incident on December 4 2013.

He was given three years and nine months in jail by Recorder Graham Huston at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday.

He said: "Two officers saw you get in a car outside your house and then drove off. A short while later you returned and were stopped.

"You had on you enough cocaine to make 35 1g street deals.

"I feel you had sufficient contacts to get rid of that quickly.

"You could also move on seven bags of skunk cannabis with a street value of £320.

"You are a long-time user of both drugs, but also engaged in commercial operation.

"This is a street dealer case and you were selling drugs to other people. That is an unattractive position to be in.

"You fought the case but the jury found you guilty."
