A further three fires have been started deliberately in Telford, the fire service said today.

Fire crews were called out to three fires involving rubbish yesterday, only a day after they tackled another three in Madeley.

The latest fire happened in Randlay and on a footpath know as Ironbridge Way off Woodside Avenue, between 2pm and 10pm on Wednesday.

Malcolm Stevenson, spokesman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue, said: "It is impossible to say these fires are linked to the three on Tuesday, but it does seem very likely.

"All these fires have involved a small amount of rubbish, mainly plastic bags from nearby bins.

"We must stress these have been very very small fires, and were out very quickly.

"But if anyone does have any information they should police and report it."

The fire service also say it is hard to tell whether these fires are linked to one on Monday night in Bowring Park, Wellington, where a 1920s pavilion was damaged.

No one was hurt in the fires but Shropshire Fire and Rescue are appealing to people for call police on 101 if they have any information.

Alternately people can speak anonymously to the Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
