Sheep rescue drama in Shrewsbury

A sheep had to be rescued when it fell into a shallow well in a village on the outskirts of Shrewsbury.

The drama happened in Marton Road in Baschurch.

A fire crew from the village was mobilised to help in the rescue.

The firefighters managed to pull the sheep out of the well and then a vet was called to the scene to check on the animal's condition.

The sheep had no visible wounds and the vet confirmed the sheep had suffered no injuries in the fall, which happened at about 4.30pm yesterday.
