David Dixon admitted to possession of cannabis, production of cannabis, burglary and fraud when he appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Tuesday.

But Dixon, 24, of Corve Street, Ludlow, denied a charge of carrying a carpet fitter's knife in a public place.

The court heard that Dixon had broken into a house at Witchcot Farm in Haytons Bent, near Ludlow, on September 1, stealing a drill and batteries.

He was also charged with carrying a bladed point or weapon in a public place on the same day in Station Drive, a charge he denied.

Dixon had previous pleaded to all the other charges at Telford Magistrates Court on December 1.

He was granted bail on the condition he resides in Corve Street and does not enter Haytons Bent or Witchcot Farm.

Judge Robin Onions said: "I will grant bail subject to the conditions that you stay in Corve Street and do not move from there. You must also co-operate with the probation service.

"The order of reports or the grant of bail should not be seen as an indication of sentence. You should prepare yourself for custody.

"With your record anything else would be something of a bonus."

The court heard that Dixon had been charged for possession of bladed weapon and burglary of a dwelling in 2006, assault in 2009 and had spent time in a young offenders institution.

The case has been adjourned until March 17 for a pre-sentence report.
