Teenager left unconscious with facial injuries after attack outside Newport nightclub

A teenager was left unconscious and with facial injuries on the floor outside a nightclub in the middle of a Shropshire town.

West Mercia Police is appealing for witnesses the wounding that occurred outside Central Square Nightclub on Newport High Street in Shropshire at about 3.30am on Saturday morning.

An 18-year-old man from Telford was outside the nightclub when he became involved in an altercation with someone he didn't know.

He was found unconscious on the pavement by a member of the public.

He sustained serious facial injuries in the assault and was taken to Princess Royal Hospital for treatment.

A police spokesmans said: "Although the description of the offender or offenders is unknown any witnesses to this incident are urged to contact West Mercia Police on non-emergency number 101 quoting incident number 0102 of 21 February 2015."
