Telford bookies robbed at knife point by men in balaclavas

Two men have robbed cash from a Telford bookmakers at knife point while wearing balaclavas.

Police are investigating the armed robbery in Madeley on Monday night and are appealing for witnesses to help identify those responsible.

The incident was reported shortly after 9pm after two men entered Bet Fred in Russell Square and threatened the cashier with a knife before making off with a quantity of cash.

A police spokesman said: "The offenders are described as white males who were dressed in black and wearing balaclavas."

Anyone who was in the area and witnessed anything suspicious, or has any information which would help to identify the offenders, is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident 0621S 160215.
