The death of Julia Winifred Mercer, 47, is currently the subject of a police investigation with a 45-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder, bailed until March 2 while officers continue their inquiries.

The inquest was opened at Shirehall, Shrewsbury by Shropshire Coroner, John Ellery, who adjourned the hearing until May 19, pending the outcome of police investigations.

During the preliminary hearing Mr Ellery heard from his officer, Phil Tyler, that Mrs Mercer was found dead at Shrewsbury Transport Limited, which operates Shrewsbury Dial a Ride, at Sundorne Trade Park, Featherbed Lane, at 8am on December 24, 2014.

Mr Tyler said Mrs Mercer was a finance officer and lived at Buttington Road, Shrewsbury.

Detective Allan Crossley of West Mercia Police told Mr Ellery that investigations are still being conducted into the circumstances of Mrs Mercer's death.
