West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to a property off the B4364, The Down, at 2pm.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "When ambulance staff arrived they found a man, believed to be in his 60s, who had reportedly been kicked by a cow.

"He was being looked after by his wife and colleague who said he had initially been knocked unconscious following the incident. By the time the air ambulance arrived the man had thankfully regained consciousness.

"The MERIT doctor and ambulance staff assessed the man and suspected he had sustained a head injury.

"They carefully immobilised him with a neck collar and spinal board before he was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, a regional trauma centre, for further treatment."
