The 45-year-old was arrested after the body of 47-year-old Shrewsbury woman Julie Mercer was discovered at business premises on Sundorne Trade Park, just off Featherbed Lane.

He has now been granted bail until March 2 while police continue inquiries.

Police launched a murder investigation after the body was discovered shortly after 8am on December 24. Forensics officers were seen at the unit where Dial-a-Ride is based.

Last month, Detective Chief Inspector Neil Jamieson, the senior investigating officer, said: "Although we do not yet know the exact cause of Mrs Mercer's death, we are continuing to treat this as a murder investigation while we await the result of further tests.

"I would like to reassure local residents that a significant number of resources continue to be dedicated to this investigation and we will continue to use specialist officers until we resolve this case."

Anyone with any information which could support the investigation is urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 117 of December 24.
