TV presenters Sam and Mark to open Southwater officially
TV presenters Sam and Mark will officially open Telford's Southwater complex, it was revealed today.
A family event will mark the official opening of the town centre leisure complex on Saturday, October 18.
The event will start at noon and run throughout the day, ending with a light parade and firework finale.
There will be street theatre and entertainment, with the CBBC and Free Radio stars taking to the stage at 6pm before a procession and fireworks display two hours later.
Telford and Wrekin council leader Kuldip Sahota, said: "We're delighted to announce this exciting programme which will officially mark the opening of Southwater and the creation of a new heart to our town.
"Southwater has already proved a huge success, attracting thousands of visitors to the borough and to the Southwater One building, lake and new restaurants and cinema.
"The official opening will have something for everyone and will be a time to celebrate what we've achieved and for people from within and outside of the borough to come and have a fun day out and enjoy everything that Southwater has to offer."
