Telford man, 34, appears in court over woman's murder

A Telford man charged with the murder of a woman in Wellington has appeared in court today.

Kevin Hyden, aged 34, spoke only to confirm his name when he appeared at Telford Magistrates Court.

Hyden, of Glebe Street, was charged with murder yesterday after the body of Davinia May Loynton, was discovered in a flat in St John's Street, on Monday afternoon.

Hyden is now set to appear at Stafford Crown Court on Monday.

A 35-year-old-man, a 21-year-old man, a 21-year-old woman, a 50-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, all arrested on suspicion of murder, have been released on police bail pending further investigations.

A 77-year-old man from Telford, who was arrested earlier on Thursday on suspicion of assisting an offender and attempting to pervert the course of justice, has also been released on police bail.

Davinia Loynton, who was also known as Dink, worked at cleaning product company Serchem at Arleston.

Heartfelt tributes have been paid to Dink, who has been described as a "lovely, hardworking and thoughtful" woman, who would do any-thing for anyone."

It is understood that a post mortem took place on Wednesday afternoon, but Shropshire coroner's office said no further details could be released.

The coroner's office confirmed it had been notified of the death and an inquest will be launched in due course.
