Shropshire traffic delays over M54 roadworks
Rush hour road works on the M54 were causing 25-minute delays in Shropshire this morning.
One lane of the M54 eastbound between junction three for Albrighton and junction two for Wolverhampton is closed.
It is due to essential repair work by the Highways Agency which has warned motorists to expect delays.
The Highways Agency said the delays were being caused by "planned roadworks" which could last all day.
On Saturday the same stretch of the M54 was completely shut after roadworks that were due to finish at 6am were not completed in time.
By 2pm the outside lane had been reopened to traffic but work was continuing on the inside lane.
The carriageway had been closed overnight for routine maintenance involving worn patches being relaid.
But workers dug out a larger section of road than planned and could not resurface it all in time.
