Man suffers facial injuries in Oswestry attack

A 24-year-old man suffered facial injuries after being attacked by two men with a metal bar in Oswestry.

The victim was left with significant facial injuries and needed hospital treatment following the attack on August 22.

The incident happened between 11.30am and 12.30pm at Coney Green Park near the old railway track.

Police Sergeant Lee Holehouse said: "The victim was approached by two men who attacked him with a metal bar. They then searched the his pockets and stole his mobile phone.

"This offence is being taken very seriously and a thorough investigation is underway. We are keen to hear from any witnesses to the robbery and anyone who may be able to offer information to help us identity the offenders."

The two offenders are thought to be in their early to mid 30s, both of a broad build and around six foot tall. One of them was wearing a brown parka jacket with blue jeans.
