Martin Scott Currier is charged with travelling to Nuneaton in Warwickshire to meet the 13-year-old, who he knew as Jodie, on May 1 last year.

It is alleged he was instead confronted by online crime fighter Stinson Hunter and his team and filmed in a video "sting" which was then uploaded on to Facebook.

Currier, of St Mark's Drive, Wellington, Telford, denied attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming when he appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday.

Judge Peter Barrie bailed Currier and adjourned the case for a trial date to be set.

He said it was likely to not take place until next year and estimated it would last for around three days.
