Dylan Stewart was found hanging in his room in Brookside and later died at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

He had recently enrolled as a pupil at Lakeside Academy in Stirchley after the family relocated to Telford from Powys.

His parents told the inquest there had been incidents of bullying during his time at the school. But Dylan had also been involved in an argument with his parents on the day, he died over a missing £5 note.

Shropshire coroner John Ellery recorded a verdict that he hanged himself, but that his intentions as to whether or not he intended to kill himself were not clear.

Dylan and his family moved to Telford at the start of the year, where he continued to be home-schooled with his three siblings.

His father Robert told the hearing that once they moved to Telford and he began to make friends in the area he was keen to sign up to the nearby secondary school.

But he later complained about bullying.

Mr Stewart said: "From what I can tell he did have some friends and he did go to the school's breakfast club. There were issues, he came home and said he had been in a couple of fights but it had been dealt with. He said he was being bullied."

His mother, Amanda, said she felt the incidents had had an impact on her son.

She said: "I saw a difference in Dylan in the week before he passed away. He looked really down."

His parents also said said that on the day of Dylan's death, a £5 note had gone missing from Mr Stewart's wallet. Dylan said he found the money behind a radiator in the home and there was a discussion with his parents over whether Dylan had taken the money.

Following this, Dylan went to his room for 20 minutes, when he was then found to have hanged himself.

Mr Ellery read out in court that Dylan's GP said he had no significant medical history and had no treatment for depressive symptoms, psychological problems or mental health issues.

Mr Ellery added: "I am not sure beyond reasonable doubt that Dylan intended to kill himself."
