The show, organised by the Knighton Vintage Car Club and held at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre on School Road saw hundreds of enthusiasts turn out in Sunday's drier weather after Saturday's thunder storms.

This year was the second the event has been held at the Discovery Centre.

Manager of the centre, Valerie Meehan, said: "It was a really nice event. We're hoping to continue to make it an annual event, particularly as it has been such a success again this year."

Members of the car club drove in a range of vintage cars and modern classics, ranging from the 50s, 60s and 70s, with car makers Morris, Jaguar and Austen being well represented.

Ms Meehan said: "All the cars come in on Sunday morning and members of the public are welcome to come in and take a look around.

"All the owners were standing by to answer any questions and explain a little bit about the cars.

"It's been lovely, we had a very busy day.

"It looked a little bit cloudy in the morning so we were crossing our fingers but we're very happy with the way the weather has turned out."

Members of the car club gave out prizes for their two best cars, with the discovery centre giving out their own award for their favourite car - this year won by a 1953 Austin A35, which has been under the ownership of the same man since it was bought as new 60 years ago.

Mrs Meehan said: "The event is organised primarily by Kim and Jo Rous and members of the club.

"We really appreciate the support they give us."
