Officers cordoned off Wednesfield Road outside the city's Canal Club, and traffic was being diverted through the Springfield area of the city.

It is believed to be a routine part of the investigation and not linked to the discovery of any new evidence.

Victim Tom Kirwan who was stabbed

A number of people are due to stand trial for affray next month in connection with violence leading up to his death.

Mr Kirwan, 23, who lived in Wolverhampton and worked at Bridgnorth Aluminium, was stabbed in July 2012 after trouble in the club, formerly known as Uberra nightclub, spilled outside.

Hundreds of people flocked to attend his funeral to say their final farewells, with the service so well attended it had to be relayed on loudspeakers to mourners outside.
