Thousands of cigarettes were stolen when three men smashed through a door at the Co-op supermarket, off High Street, in the early hours of February 25.

Chris Ammonds, a spokesman for West Mercia Police, said today: "Investigations are ongoing. We are looking at the possibility of links with other incidents outside our area.

"It could be that the group is travelling around committing similar offences."

The men, all wearing dark clothing, broke a pane of glass in the front door before forcing the shutters up and making off with the tobacco in large green bins.

It is believed they might have made their getaway in a green Ford Focus.
