Shrewsbury garden centre is seeking help

A Shrewsbury garden centre is on the lookout for a local charity to support.

Dobbies Garden Centre is calling for local organisations to come forward and apply to be their official charity for this year. Residents in Shrewsbury can also nominate groups they think are suitable.

They will be the first recipients of any fundraising activities at Dobbies, on Hereford Road, including prize draws and in-store fundraising events.

Kelly Rowson, community champion at Dobbies, said: "It's that time of year again when we're looking for a local charity partner to work with throughout the year.

"We've had great success with local charity partnerships in previous years and we're looking forward to receiving nominations and applications.

"Our customers have always been extremely generous in supporting our charities and will do all they can to take part in our fundraising activities planned throughout the year."

Dobbies has has raised more than £300,000 for charities across the UK for its local and national charity partnerships, in the last financial year. The deadline for applications is February 28. Forms can be collected instore or downloaded from www.dobbies.com
