Letter: A&E and the banks

I am worried about the possibility of Shrewsbury or Telford losing an A&E department because of the budget freeze.

The simple solution to the problem is for government to retake the power to create money from the private bankers. Until this is done no amount of political or campaigning activity will go anywhere near to solving these problems.

I am reminded of point one of '15 things they don't tell you about money' which can be Googled and should be studied by all.

1. Governments in full sovereign control of their currencies can create sufficient money to ensure full employment and to finance all their activities.

There is no limit to money creation and to say that 'there is no money left' is as absurd as it is untrue.

There is no reason why government cannot create enough new money each year to finance health, education, transport, elderly care, defence and the police service and lend without usury to viable businesses.

Private banks create new money out of thin air when they make loans. They do this by typing numbers onto a computer screen and pressing send to the borrower's account. No existing money is removed from any saver's account.

Central banks create money out of thin air through quantitative easing. Unfortunately, when bankers create new money, most of it is to further their own selfish interests.
