Prince William airlifts injured walker, 50
A man who fell injured into a deep snowdrift during a family holiday hike was rescued and taken to a hospital in Shropshire on an RAF helicopter piloted by Prince William.
Phill Diggory, 50, dislocated his ankle while on a walk on the mountains near Lake Vyrnwy in Mid Wales with his wife Helen, 47, and son Daniel, 26.
Paramedics took an hour to reach him and then called in help from RAF Valley on Anglesey – which sent a helicopter piloted by the Duke of Cambridge.

Mr Diggory, a self-employed gas engineer, was winched into the helicopter on a stretcher – and only realised who the pilot was when he noticed the prince's bodyguard sitting inside the cab. William then flew the helicopter to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
Mr Diggory, from Broughton, near Chester, said: "When we got to Shrewsbury he took off his helmet and put his thumbs up."
He said his wife was a fan of Prince William but did not get to see him as she was unable to ride in the helicopter with her husband.
"She was a bit put out," he said.
