Two kittens dumped on the steps of a vets' practice are having to be hand reared by one of the staff.

The males, thought to be just over four weeks old, were left outside the Oakwood Veterinary Centre in Babbinswood near Oswestry last week.

Too young to feed themselves, the kittens are having to be bottle fed by staff.

Practice manager Sam Davies said she was now desperately trying to track the owner. She said: "They were left with a note saying there were too many and they couldn't look after them.

"We are offering to neuter the queen if we can track down the owner, to try and stop any more litters being dumped. We also need to try and find a home for the little fellas. At the moment they are being hand reared but will be ready to be rehomed in a few weeks."

Staff member Helen Davies is looking after the two kittens, taking them home and bottle feeding them. "We think they are about four and a half weeks old," she said.

Anyone who can help the Oakwood should ring on (01691) 679699.
