Thieves stole more than £1,000 in foreign currency during a raid on a house in Telford.

The burglars forced their way into a home in Trench and took various items including a TV, iPad, laptop and keys. They also stole two vehicles from the drive.

Police believe offenders may try to exchange the currency at one of the many foreign exchange bureaus in the local area.

A Telford Police spokesman said: "Currency from Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the Czech Republic, Malaysia, UAE, Indonesia, Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, USA and Israel was stolen, along with euros.

"The total amount stolen equates to around £1,600 in sterling. The burglary took place a couple of weeks ago now, so it could be that the thieves have already tried to exchange the currency.
