Thousands of visitors will see a World War Two plane fly above Ludlow for this year's annual festival.

The Horsa glider will fly over the town on June 30 at the height of Ludlow Festival.

It has also been revealed a star from the Harry Potter films, an acclaimed ABBA tribute band, orchestras and a production of a Shakespeare play are among the highlights of the 2012 Ludlow Festival.

The two-week arts extravaganza will start on June 23 and attract people from around the UK.

Today, event spokeswoman Liz Hyder said festival organisers had put together an exciting line-up.

She said: "As the Olympics return to Britain for the first time since 1948 and Her Majesty The Queen celebrates her Diamond Jubilee, Ludlow Festival reflects the big events of 2012 in an exciting line-up centred around this year's theme of 'celebration'."

All details are available at www.ludlowfestival.co.uk or at the box office, in Ludlow's Castle Square.
