Thieves stole 20 laptop computers during an early morning raid at a business in Telford.

The computers, worth more than £6,000, were taken during a burglary at the business, which has not been named, in Halesfield 6 yesterday.

The thieves failed in their attempt to force open a steel security door at the firm, but they got in after forcing another door at about 5am.

A police spokesman said: "We do not yet have full details about the laptops that were taken but it appears at least 20 are missing, with a total value of more than £6,000.

"Officers are examining CCTV from the premises, and from other businesses nearby, to see whether this offers any clues about who is responsible, while forensic officers have also attended the scene looking for evidential opportunities."

Constable Graham Donaldson is keen to hear from anyone who may have information about the break-in or who may have seen anything suspicious in the Halesfield 6 area.
