The families of two men killed in a plane crash in Mid Wales today paid tribute to them.

Bob Jones, 60, owner of Welshpool Airport; and former easyJet pilot Steve Carr, 55, from Ruthin, North Wales, died last Wednesday when the twin-engine plane they were flying in came down on Long Mountain, near Welshpool.

An investigation is under way into why the plane crashed and it is expected to be many months before this will be completed.

The two men were formally identified yesterday afternoon. In a statement Mr Jones's family said they were 'shocked and saddened' by his death.

"Bob was a much loved husband, father and friend," the statement said.

Mr Carr's family said: "Our world is immeasurably poorer for the loss."

Leave your tributes to Bob Jones and Steve Carr in the comments below. Discussion of the incident will not be published.
