Mr Sisson won the World Wildlife category for his picture of four American bison in a snow storm in Yellowstone National Park in the United States which then went on to win the overall competition.
The picture shows the bison on their way to taking cover from the snow blizzard and was captured 'by chance'.
He said: "I was genuinely surprised to win and very happy.
"I would have been shocked and delighted to have won in one category but to win in two and named overall winner is just brilliant.
"I've been told that they had thousands of entrants from a total of 126 countries.
"The judges said they were looking for shots that used compelling compositions which capture the spirit and behaviour of wildlife around the planet.
"The bison image was taken in one of the coldest and toughest habits away from the Poles. It wasn't easy but I was delighted with the final shot."
