The 20-year-old, who scored Shrewsbury's goal against Arsenal last month, was picked up by police following the crash which caused the M1 to be closed. Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan, 21, who played in the youth team with Collins at Villa Park before the frontman moved to Shrewsbury, was also arrested following the crash at 5.30am yesterday. The 20-year-old, who scored Shrewsbury's goal against Arsenal last month, was picked up by police following the crash which caused the M1 to be closed.

Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan, 21, who played in the youth team with Collins at Villa Park before the frontman moved to Shrewsbury, was also arrested following the crash at 5.30am yesterday.

A spokesman for Shrewsbury Town today said the club was currently investigating the reported incident.

Police said no-one was injured in the crash. Both men were bailed pending further inquiries.
