The Shropshire Star has launched a fantastic opportunity to win a key role in the future of one of the county's leading motor dealerships.

Furrows is offering the role of group e-media specialist, based at its Telford headquarters, to be won through "Just The Job", a unique job search in association with the Star.

With a competitive salary, the role is open to people of all ages who have the right attributes to build the company brand.

Furrows managing director Bill Cooper said: "We want somebody who can make a real difference in this role.

"They are going to have a massive opportunity to make a difference to our business. Some people complain that they don't have any influence where they work, but that couldn't be further from the truth here. It's an opportunity to really make a mark on this area of our business.

"E-media has grown tremendously already, but it's going to grow beyond all recognition in the next few years, and the successful applicant can grow in this role."

So how do you take part?

The process of winning the position up for grabs will see applicants submit their job applications to the Shropshire Star.

Our panel will then shortlist it down to a group of semi-finalists who will be invited to pitch themselves to the judges in front of our Shropshire Star video cameras.

Three finalists will be chosen from that list, and the final decision will be split three ways, by the judges, by shropshirestar.com users who can view the videos online, and by the audience at the Business Awards on June 3.

Applicants must agree to be filmed during the audition process, and to have their videos online and shown on the night to allow the judges to make a final decision.

Mr Cooper added: "There has never been a better chance to get noticed in front of so many members of Shropshire's business community."

Group sales manager Dave Farthing said: "We see our new website and e-media as a big part of our future, and with this initiative we are opening it up to far more applicants.

"We see this as long term, and it's a pivotal role in our organisation. We want a professional person, who is full of good ideas and initiatives, who is proactive and with lots of enthusiasm.

"You can't train people to have that energy and enthusiasm, whether you get a 50-year-old or a 22-year-old, and we want somebody with a real passion for it."
