The Buttermarket nightclub in Shrewsbury has struck a deal with bosses from the ITV1 show which means each finalist will play the venue shortly after they have been voted off the programme.

It follows the club hosting performances from last year's contestants, including Union J, Rylan Clark, Jahmene Douglas and winner James Arthur.

Shows will start from October 19, with a special launch event on October 12 featuring some of the contestants from last year's show.

Club owner Martin Monahan said: "It's absolutely fantastic, everyone here is so excited about hosting these exclusive X Factor gigs with no age restriction on tickets. It's a real coup for us and another first for Shropshire. I couldn't be more thrilled.

"The excellent reputation we've gained from the X Factor tour managers from last year's season was really humbling. It soon became one of their favourite venues in the UK for the X Factor finalists to perform at."

The first live show for this year's X Factor finalists is set to air on October 5, followed by the first live elimination from the contest the following evening.

That contestant will then appear live at Shropshire venue on October 19 at 10pm. The venue is looking to host each eliminated contestant in the following weeks through until the end of the year.

Nightclub bosses are also planning to offer an X Factor "season ticket" to die-hard fans who want to attend all of the shows.
