Tickets for the concert at the 3,000-capacity Telford International Centre went on sale online on Saturday, following some confusion between the promoter and the venue.

The performance, supported by X Factor's Rylan Clark, will take place on September 27. But the venue today said it still had not seen a signed contract from the Australian singer.

Alison Griffin, sales and marketing director for the Southwater Event Group which runs the centre, said: "The concert has still not been confirmed but we are due to meet the promoter today so we should have some news soon."

Promoter Leigh Elliot said the concert was going ahead and expressed his delight at the public response.

"I am really impressed with ticket sales," said Mr Elliot. "It looks like it's going to be a sell out within two weeks.

"Facebook has gone wild with people asking for tickets so it's definitely going ahead. Everything's been signed and sent over."

Fans were confused when the date was listed on the Australian singer's website despite an insistence from the venue that no concert existed. It appears the two sides had been in talks but that nothing had been confirmed.
