UK Martial Arts Show 2026

On May 2 and 3, the UK Martial Arts Show welcomed some of the world’s leading martial arts experts from across the globe. Held at the Doncaster Dome, the event attracted large crowds and featured a wide range of workshops and demonstrations for visitors to enjoy.

Several world champions attended the show, alongside Hollywood martial arts stars including Cynthia Rothrock and Benny Urquidez.

The Shropshire Goju Ryu Karate Academy was invited to deliver not one, but two demonstrations on the event’s main stage - first during the afternoon and then again later at the Martial Arts Hall of Fame Awards in the evening.

The Shropshire team, ranging in age from 13 to 66, represented both the English Goju Ryu Karate Association and the International Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate Federation. They showcased traditional Okinawan karate training methods, as well as specialised exercises using traditional equipment known as Hojo Undo, designed to develop power, speed and strength.

Led by instructor Sensei Max Beddow, the team was rewarded for its dedication and impressive performances by receiving Hall of Fame Top Martial Artist awards from the event organisers.

Their displays were warmly received, and the group has already been invited back for next year’s event.
