Members of Shropshire Army Cadet Force took part in Autumn Music Camp 2026, where they developed their musical skills, built confidence and made friends with cadets from across the country.

The week included rehearsals and performances, culminating in a final parade.

The camp catered for musicians of all abilities, from those picking up an instrument for the first time to more experienced players looking to develop their skills.

Organisers praised the cadets for embracing the challenges and making the most of the opportunities, while thanking the instructors, musical staff and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) who helped make the week a success.

The musicians will now put their new skills into practice as they represent Shropshire at Remembrance events next week.

Shropshire Army Cadet Force is also encouraging more young people to get involved with its Band and Bugles.

The group meets at Copthorne Barracks every Thursday from 7pm to 9pm and is open to all cadets across the county.

No previous musical experience is needed, with tuition, instruments and support provided. Members can work towards qualifications through the Army Cadet Syllabus Music programme, from one-star to four-star levels.

Music can also count towards the skills section of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
