New Shropshire event to celebrate women making a difference in their communities
Women from across Shropshire invited to connect and celebrate at fundraising lunch
A new fundraising event is set to bring together women from across Shropshire to connect, share experiences and celebrate the positive difference being made in communities across the county.

Ladies Who Lunch for Good will take place at The Wroxeter Hotel on Friday, October 2, combining networking, inspiration and fundraising in support of Community Resource’s work across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
For more than 60 years, the charity has worked alongside local people, volunteers and organisations to help communities thrive, supporting those facing challenges including isolation, rising living costs and barriers to wellbeing.
In the last year alone, Community Resource supported more than 7,400 people, helped residents save more than £27,000 through its community oil buying scheme and provided more than 1,500 hearing loss hub appointments.
The event has been created to celebrate women who are making a difference across the county while raising vital funds for the charity’s work.
Hanna Clarke, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Community Resource, said: “Through this event, we'll be raising funds for Community Resource while bringing together inspiring women from across Shropshire to connect, share ideas and celebrate the difference being made in our communities.”
Guests at the event will hear from Deborah Mitchell, founder and CEO of Heaven Skincare, who will share her journey of building a Shropshire-founded business into an internationally recognised brand.
Deborah launched Heaven Skincare more than 30 years ago after developing her own skincare solution. The company now holds a Royal Warrant, while Deborah has worked as Queen Camilla’s facialist for more than 20 years.

Despite its global success, Heaven Skincare’s head office and product development remain based in Shropshire.
Speaking ahead of the event, Deborah said: “I'm absolutely delighted to have been invited to speak. I spend much of my time working and travelling around the world for my business, and while it's incredibly rewarding, it can also be quite a lonely journey.
“That’s why I truly value the opportunity to spend the day with such an inspiring community of accomplished, like-minded women.”
The afternoon will be hosted by Amy Bould, Community Resource Trustee and Managing Director of Be Bold Media.
Alongside Deborah’s talk, guests will enjoy a reception drink, two-course lunch, tea and coffee, a prize draw and a guest pack, with the event designed to encourage meaningful conversations and new connections.
The HR Dept Shropshire has been announced as headline sponsor.
Niamh Kelly FCIPD, Managing Director of The HR Dept Shropshire, said: “As a women-led business, we're proud to headline sponsor an event that celebrates female success while supporting the invaluable work of Community Resource.”
