The "Little Bobbins" workshops, run by local instructors Deb and Claire at Happy Days Sewing, are aimed at children aged eight to 14 and are designed to introduce beginners to sewing in a relaxed and friendly environment.

No previous experience is needed, with all equipment and materials provided, including sewing machines and a choice of fabrics for each project.

The organisers hope the sessions will give young people the opportunity to develop practical skills while enjoying a creative activity during the school holidays.

Alongside the children's workshops, Happy Days Sewing is also running sessions for adults and older crafters.

Upcoming projects include "Plymouth Pouches", designed to create practical pouches for items such as phones, Kindles and notebooks, and the return of the popular "Louby Lou" workshop, which has been extended to allow participants more time to complete their projects at a relaxed pace.

Deb and Claire said they were looking forward to welcoming new and returning crafters to the workshops.

Places on the children's sessions can be booked one the Happy Day Sewing website, including a free "Little Bobbins" taster workshop.
