The event, organised by 24 (Market Drayton) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets in partnership with Oruna Cuisine, will take place on Tuesday, November 3, from 7pm to 9.30pm.

The evening at the restaurant in Shropshire Street will include food, guest speakers and a fundraising raffle, with tickets costing £22 per person.

Local businesses are also being invited to donate raffle prizes, including vouchers, gifts and experiences, to help raise money for the squadron.

The event aims to bring together cadets, families, volunteers and local supporters while raising awareness of the opportunities available through the Air Cadets.

The organisation offers young people aged 12 to 17 the chance to develop new skills, build confidence and make friends through activities including flying and gliding, adventure training, camping, sports, first aid and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Cadets can also take part in leadership development, STEM activities and work towards qualifications, with opportunities to develop skills that can benefit them in later life.

No previous aviation experience is needed to join, and membership does not require a commitment to a career in the Armed Forces.

The squadron, based at Hedley Way on the Buntingdale Estate in Ternhill, near Market Drayton, meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

As well as welcoming new cadets, the squadron is looking for more adult volunteers to help with activities, training and administration. No military or aviation background is required, and training is provided.

The Curry Night will be held at Oruna Cuisine, 63 Shropshire Street, Market Drayton, on November 3.

Tickets cost £22 per person. To book, email [email protected].
