All Saints Church Hall received the funding from Persimmon Homes West Midlands through its Community Champions scheme, supporting the installation of an air source heat pump, an electric water heater, improved insulation and solar panels.

The hall is used throughout the year by a range of community groups, including a community café, baby and toddler sessions, a craft group and a choir, as well as being available for private hire.

The cheque was presented by Selattyn and Gobowen Parish Council chair Councillor Erica Morgan and Persimmon Homes West Midlands sales director Elaine Brown.

Lindsay Ritchie, treasurer at All Saints Church Hall, said: "We are incredibly grateful to Persimmon Homes for their generous donation that helped us to complete a project that will benefit our local community for years to come.

"The completed project has created a warmer, more comfortable space that can also be cooled during hot weather, while reducing energy costs and helping keep hall hire affordable for local community groups."

Councillor Morgan said the funding would help reduce the hall's carbon footprint through the installation of air conditioning units powered by solar panels, providing a cooler meeting space during the summer months.

She added: "On behalf of Selattyn and Gobowen Parish Council, I would like to thank Persimmon Homes for their £2,500 Community Champions donation."

Elaine Brown, sales director at Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: "We are proud to support Gobowen Village Hall through our Community Champions scheme.

"It is fantastic to see our donation helping to fund energy-efficient improvements that will reduce the hall's environmental impact, lower running costs and ensure this valued community facility remains affordable, accessible and welcoming for local residents."
