Andy Edwards is running a series of events throughout 2026 to raise funds and awareness for Adoption Matters, which supports children and families across Shropshire and beyond.

His challenge began in March with the Chester 10k and he has already completed six races, covering more than 53 miles.

The events completed so far include the Tatton Trail 10k and the Manchester Trail Escape 25k, with upcoming races including the Warrington Half Marathon, Manchester Half Marathon and Hadrian’s Wall Half Marathon.

By October, Andy hopes to have completed the full challenge, covering a total distance of 165 kilometres (102.7 miles).

Each race represents another step towards his fundraising goal and helping Adoption Matters continue its work supporting children waiting for permanent, nurturing homes.

Adoption Matters fundraising and relationship manager Annie O’Neill thanked Andy for taking on the challenge and encouraged people to support his efforts.

Adoption Matters is one of the UK’s largest voluntary adoption agencies, recruiting, training and supporting adoptive families. The charity also provides ongoing support to children and families after adoption.
