Clarkes Solicitors Partners with Midlands Air Ambulance charity’s free will writing service
Clarkes Solicitors has joined up with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity
Clarkes Solicitors has joined Midlands Air Ambulance Charity's Free Will Writing Service, expanding access to professional Will writing support across the county.
The firm, which has offices in Shrewsbury, Telford, Wellington, Newport and Shifnal, becomes the latest legal practice to join the charity's network of approved solicitors and Will writers.
The scheme allows people aged 50 and over to have a simple Will written free of charge, with the charity covering the cost. There is no obligation to leave a donation to the air ambulance in the Will, but legacy gifts remain a vital source of funding for the service.
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity operates three helicopters and a fleet of critical care cars across the region, responding to an average of 4,000 missions each year. The service receives no government funding for its daily operations and relies entirely on public support.
Toni Laycock, solicitor at Clarkes Solicitors, said: "One of the most common misconceptions about making a Will is that people do not need one or that it can be left until later. In reality, having a Will in place ensures your wishes are clear and that the people and organisations you care about are provided for in the way you intend."
She added: "We are really pleased to be joining Midlands Air Ambulance Charity's Free Will Writing Service. It is a charity that is quite literally on our doorstep and one we see regularly in the skies above us, so the connection feels very real locally. It is very well known across the communities we serve and feels like a natural fit."
Umar Mahmood, legacy and in memory manager at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: "Legacy gifts are a vital part of how we fund our emergency medical service. With no government funding, we rely entirely on public support to keep our helicopters and critical care cars operational."
He said the continued growth of the Free Will Writing Service helps the charity reach more people across the region and encourages important conversations around Will writing and legacy giving.
The scheme operates across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, the West Midlands and Worcestershire.
