Bridgnorth choirs raise £1,000 for community first responders

A charity concert held in Bridgnorth has raised an impressive £1,000 to support the work of Bridgnorth Community First Responders.

Bridgnorth Community First Responders, who are a group of volunteers who give up their time to attend 999 calls and provide lifesaving care before an ambulance arrives.

The event featured performances from two well‑known local choirs: Concordia Ladies Choir and Bridgnorth Male Voice Choir. Their combined programme drew a strong audience and created an evening of music, community spirit and generosity.

Concordia Ladies Choir, based in Bridgnorth, rehearses every Monday evening at the Morville Village Hall. The choir is known for its friendly atmosphere and varied repertoire, performing regularly at community events and charity fundraisers across Shropshire.

Bridgnorth Male Voice Choir meets every Thursday evening at Bridgnorth Football Club. With a long tradition of supporting local causes, the choir is recognised for its rich harmonies and strong presence at concerts throughout the region.

In addition to the funds raised through ticket sales and donations on the night, the CFRs received a further £193 direct donation from one of the attendees, Sue Hale. This generous personal contribution helped push the final total to £1,000 and reflects the strong community support for the responders’ work.

Funds raised from the concert will help Bridgnorth CFRs maintain essential medical equipment, responder kits and vehicle costs, ensuring volunteers can continue delivering rapid emergency care to residents in and around the town.

Bridgnorth CFRs expressed their gratitude to both choirs, event organisers and everyone who attended or donated, noting that the contribution will directly support their ability to respond to life‑threatening emergencies in the community.
