A national emergency briefing in the heart of Market Drayton

Market Drayton Climate Action will be showing The People’s Emergency Briefing in Festival Drayton Centre’s Vernon Suite at 7.30pm on Friday (April 17).

This 45-minute eye-opening film features nine leading scientists and experts updating us on the latest in the climate and nature crisis and its impact on our everyday life. It is free of charge and everyone in the community is invited to attend and take part in the following discussion.

Topics covered include extreme weather, food security, health, and the cost of living.

The film presents a clear, measured overview of how the climate and nature crisis is affecting everyday life in Britain – and what the evidence says about risks and responses.

The initiative is supported by a wide range of organisations including National Trust, Church of England, the Royal Meteorological Society, WWF, National Education Union, and many more. It is being shown in many locations across the country.

Following the film there will be an open discussion allowing everyone to consider the information presented and how we can take action to do something about it. A panel with Shropshire Councillors David Minnery and Tom Dainty, Town Councillor Rupert Adcock and Market Drayton Climate Action’s Nancy Stewart will support the discussion.
